DROP MOLD FORMS​
4WK, Saturdays, 1-3pm PM
Starting in February 7th
w/Brooklyn Grantz
Students will:​
-
Design and use simple drop molds
-
Work with slabs made by hand and with the slab roller
-
Combine leather-hard and fresh clay
-
Build forms using slabs and coils
-
Learn drying strategies and how to keep clay workable over time
-
Students will create 2–4 pieces over the course. All materials and taxes are included.

Design and build a one-of-a-kind ceramic lamp from concept to finished piece

Use strong handbuilding techniques to create durable, well-balanced hollow forms

Design functional openings and internal structures for safe lamp wiring and hardware

Develop surface texture, carving, and glaze treatments that interact with light
-
Refine form and details for a clean, professional finish
-
Install lamp hardware (socket, cord, and plug) to create a fully functional lamp ready for use
