Service Description

Taught by ceramic artist KT Weyrich, learn how to make pinched forms with clay and decorate them using the sgraffito technique. This 4-week course for all skill levels meets 2 hours per week and includes up to 2 hours of open studio practice time per week. Sgraffito is a decorative process where designs are carved through a layer of underglaze (or colored slip) to reveal the clay underneath. Students will gain hands-on experience building pinched forms, applying color, and carving intricate designs with guidance on composition, line quality, and finishing details. Throughout the session, participants will receive structured demonstrations, one-on-one support, and time to explore their own style. By the end of the class, students will complete 3–5 finished pieces that showcase their new sgraffito skills. All materials and taxes are included in the course fee.
